January 4 Picks

I would suggest to take my picks and just bet the opposite, as I managed to post another set of losing games.  Personally I think everyone got robbed of the Virgina Tech win.  Yesterday would not have been that bad if it weren’t for the fact that all my higher plays lost, and my lower games won.  I’ll probably end off the day with about 13-14 picks, however I’ll only post a few of them. Hopefully my posted card has a similar or better win then my personal card.

Today’s Picks

NCAAB

Texas Tech +10.5       WIN

Dayton +3.5                 WIN

William & Mary +4.5    WIN

NCAAF

West Virgina +3           WIN

NHL

Winnipeg OVER 5.5     WIN

January 3 Picks

Yesterday was heart wrenching for me. I had 13 plays, and started off the day 4-1.  It was looking like I would be up quite a lot.  Then I got a push, followed by 3 loses on the hook in a row.  The games that I had posted were my top plays, and they seemed to disappoint.  I ended up the day literally $5.

For those of you that watched the Winter Classic, let me tell you that was some game.  And if you were one of the 99% of people that bet the UNDER, that was even more of a spectacular game, with the penalty shot.

Anyways, I have some more of my top plays.  If I find that I seem to be posting the wrong plays where I’m listing losers, with my play card coming on a profit I will just post them all.  Until then I think I’ll stick to this system for a couple of weeks.  Anyways, I’ll be adding more throughout the day, so be sure to re-check.

2012 Handicapping

Sorry for not posting any picks.  I took a bit of a vacation and having updated anything on the site.

2012 will be a good year for me.  There will be two changes in my capping.  First I will be including other sports in my picks.  Usually I will only have 2-3 in the other sports, however i expect to see solid returns from them.

I’m also going to be betting variable units which I will post before hand. None if this 5 star, 10 diamond play of the century crap that I hear other sports touts preach.  Probably three standard units will be the maximum play. We’ll see what happens, however when I’ve back tested the strategy, I was up significantly.

So happy new years to all, and good luck for the new year

December 28 Picks

Since I was working during the games, all I can comment on is that I lost, however, I’m still happy with my picks.  Detroit on the Puckline in the long run is a very profitable bet. And after looking in the forums, I was not the only capper that took Colorado. In fact, I think everyone did. I know this sounds stupid, however I would rather lose on a good bet, then win on a bad one.  I actually had a last minute bet of Montreal Over which came in, but since I didn’t post it, I won’t count it for stats.

I’m really torn on playing the Vancouver/SJ game.  First off, SJ is my kryptonite.  There is something about that team that I just cannot cap. Then there is Vancouver, who has put Luongo back in the net as their No.1 goal.  Technically he is a better goalie, however there something about watching Schneider play that is magical.  He just has a way of stopping those impossible shots that is brilliant.  If he was back in the net, I’d say Vancouver wins hands down.

That said, Vancouver is the dog right now. The line is not out with my bookie, however I’m expecting it to be between +110-115.  For this game, I’m going on consistency.  With the exception of a couple horrible beats (ahem…Columbus, Calgary), they are a tough team.  Now look at San Jose. Lost to the ducks (three times).  Lost to LA, and won in a shootout.  Shutout by St. Louis. Lost to Florida, scratched a win at home to Edmonton.  At the end of the day, Vancouver has the slight advantage on the stats against SJ. Plus they have the motivation to win. I don’t really understand what is going on in the goalie camp, but one of two possibilities. Luongo wants to show that Calgary was a fluke or Schneiner, who helped lead Van to a victory against SJ, wants to prove that he is not a second tier goalie.

Today’s Picks

Chicago -1.5    LOSS

Boston -1.5       LOSS

NYR                    LOSS

Vancouver         WON    +104

BOS/CHI Parlay   LOSS

Total Units: -2.96

December 27 Picks

Although yesterday’s parlay seemed like a bit of a safety move, in actuality, that is exactly what it was.  It was one of those bets that you need once in a while to boost your moral.  Money is money, and I’ll take 2 units any day.

As for today, we’re back to the number crunching.  Pittsburgh, going against what should be an easy win. When they win at home, they like to win big. Carolina is “streaky” at best, and despite their very nice wins over Vancouver and NJ in December, the numbers are not there to support a team such as Pits.  You cannot take on a team of sharpshooters with a Power Kill under 80%, and expect to win.  Pits will just find those holes and make some point happen when they need to.  Personally I’m going to play the puckline as the Penguins will be racking up several points.

Detroit is another home team that is literally unstoppable.  The last time they lost at home was November 3rd to Calgary. And every time they have won at home, it has been by two or more points.  The Blues are going to put up a great fight, and if you look at the stats head-to-head, they are pretty even.  They have even beat Detroit twice on their own territory.  But at the end of the day, I think this just come down to raw emotion by the players. Home ice does something to those players that make them a beautiful site to see.

Today’s Picks

Pittsburgh -1.5     WON +119

Detroit -1.5           LOSS

Colorado               LOSS

Total Units: -0.81

December 26 Picks

I hope everyone had a nice holiday.  My week leading up into Christmas was not the week anyone would want going into the break.  In fairness, I was not the only capper out there that had a bad week. In fact, I think most lost on the two days coming up to the break.  Maybe teams have the holidays on their minds and not the game?  Who knows.  I’m going to start this week off with a pretty safe 1 unit Parlay. There should be no surprises on these games and I’m expecting easy wins.

Today’s Picks

Chicago/Vancouver/Rangers Parlay  WON     1.98

Total Units: +1.98
